Sri Yantra symbol

Sri Yantra, also known as Shree Yantra is a ritual symbol of the Vedic, Hindu and Tantric cultures from the great energy power. "Shree Yantra" means Wealth instrument.

Sri Yantra is considered one of the oldest, purest and most powerful symbols. Its powers can help us fulfil our desires, improve our lives, manifesting wealth and abundance in both the spiritual and material realms. It also helps to manifest peace, strength and success. It also helps to removing life's obstacles and bad influences. Sri Yantra is the yantra of wealth and well-being. Its structure reflects the cosmic plane and symbolises the the highest form of consciousness.

How is the Sri Yantra composed?

The Sri Yantra symbol consists of nine triangles surrounding and radiating from the central point. These nine triangles are of various sizes and intersect each other. In the middle is the point of strength called the binduwhich represents the highest, invisible and elusive centre from which the whole figure and the universe expand. The triangles are enclosed by two rows of lotus petals, representing creation and life energy. The broken lines of the outer frame represent a temple with four openings to the four regions of the universe.

Where to place the Sri Yantra

The Shree Yantra should be placed so that it is visible from all sides as it will affect all positions from which it is visible, the suggested height is about 1.5m or it is recommended to place it at the level of the heart.

Structure of Sri Yantra

The peculiarity of the Sri Yantra is its highly complex geometric shape. It consists of 9 triangles; 5 point downwards and represent masculine strength, 4 point upwards and represent the feminine.

The round dot in the centre, BinduIt symbolises the origin and completion of creation, the whole cosmic energy.

The intersection of the 9 triangles creates a diagram with 43 small triangles.

The outer circle represents the cyclical development of the visualisation.

The two circles of 8 and 16 lotus petals represent the lotus of creation and the fertile life force.

The square, stable and solid, constitutes the earth element, the power of condensation and manifestation; the square is a sacred enclosure, open to the outside world through 4 doors, the 4 cardinal points, in the shape of a T, symbolise the connection of the sacred space of the Yantra with the outside world.
