Protection symbol Nazar Boncugu

The Nazar Boncugu (or Boncuk) is an ancient talisman present throughout the Middle EastIt is very common in Armenia, Iran, Greece and Turkey.

The word "Nazar"comes from the Arabic language and means ".look"while "Boncuk"means "pearl"so literally "glance of pearl".

The Nazar Boncugu symbolises the jealous and envious gaze of other people and it is thought that this amulet protect its possessor from negative energies by absorbing them.
